Internal Ultrasound
Today I woke up at 9am, I got ready to go to the ultrasound office. Today was a week from the last time I had one of these done. This purpose of these ultrasounds is to check on my cervix, which the doctors had said grew smaller than normal. Every time I go to this office they always have me see a different doctor. There is one lady that I really liked and was always super nice. I cant remember her name but to describe her, she was Asian. She would always say how cute the baby looked on the ultrasound. Anyhow this time it wasn’t her, I was a little disappointed but it was ok. I was about to find out if I had to go back to actual bed rest or I could just “take it easy”. Well my appointment was at 10am and me and my significant other who’s name is Juan, were waiting for about a half hour when the woman at the front desk called my name. When we went up to the desk she said “I’m sorry but your appointment is actually for tomorrow” we were both shocked and confused, so she gave me a paper to go give the appointment schedule lady to reschedule my appointment.
While we were waiting to reschedule, I looked down at the paper and saw that the last name said Torres, then said to Juan, this is not me, so Juan quickly took the paper from me and went back to the front desk woman and said “this is the wrong Jennifer” then she said “oh I’m so sorry, please take a seat and we will call you soon”. We were pretty upset with her because she put us through a short sadness. So after we got that settled, we had to wait for another 25 minutes. I did not get in to see the doctor until an hour later. That place is always so busy. At that point I was getting pretty hungry too.
Luckily after we went in the see the doctor it did not take very long, although Juan was a bit upset, he said “we waited an hour for the doctor to see you for five minutes”. It was annoying but at least we ended up with some good news. The doctor told us that my cervix was the same size as the last week I had gone in which is about 2.4 inches. The normal size is 3 to 4 inches. So since it had not gotten any smaller, she said to go ahead and just take it easy but not complete bed rest. I am very happy for this because when the cervix keeps getting shorter, this can result in a premature labor, which we do not want. So my next appointment with my doctor is tomorrow.
Cant wait to see what she says.
