Hi Danielle

I was the same way i had no clue at all what it was. Thank goodness no one in our household got it, which was a great relief...I also did the same thing swabbing her mouth a few times a day and i know the doctor said it wasn't a cure but rather to help with the pain. It seemed like each time we used it, it was going away. Thank goodness i wasn't nursing her any longer i stopped nursing her at 15 months old.

Definitely let other people know about the virus its really is serious and once you have experienced it then you can really feel their pain.

My baby had Coxsackie virus when he was three months old. We assume my 4 yr old brought it home from preschool. But my older son never got it. Then the little one gave it to our two cousins because the day he broke out with it we didnt know what it was! Our doctor have us that numbing stuff too and i just swabbed his mouth with it every few hours for two days. He wouldnt nurse so i had to pump and bottle feed him for those two days. I had never heard of the hand foot mouth disease but I know all about it now!
