16 and Pregnant
I’ve watched all the episodes of “16 and Pregnant,” which is on MTV. Each episode focuses on a unique girl dealing with teen pregnancy. In season one it had 4 amazingly smart teen moms all dealing with an unexpected pregnancy while still in High School and only 16.
First you meet Maci a pretty, sweet sixteen-year-old girl with a boyfriend who is five years older than she is. Prior to her pregnancy she was a cheerleader and loved dirtbikes. That all changed when she found out she was pregnant. Suddenly, she was engaged and switching to an alternative school in order to graduate high school early. Well things didn’t go as planned, she soon had her son Bentley who is beyond adorable, and her and her long time loser boyfriend Ryan called everything quits (Thank GOD!). Maci never came off as being a immature typical 16 year old, she started the show off as the most mature girl on the show from my view. She would try everything to make things work with her and Ryan which seemed like more for Bentley’s sake then for her. She was real focused on just getting High School done and moving forward, she was very smart for taking her parents help but also for finally leaving her loser boyfriend which one day when he looks back on all this he’ll see how incredible stupid he was!!
~ She is Daddy’s Little Princess~
So when we first found out we were having a girl I was so excited!! I would have my lil princess to dress up and take shopping and take to dance classes and all the fun things girls love to do.
Well these past couple weeks all she wants to do is get messy like a boy, help dad with the tools, and run around in a diaper like a crazy lil boy (LOL). I keep getting a bit sad because I just wanted my lil princess. I mean it’s a cute thing to watch her working on the bike’s with her dad, but what about mommy? She hate’s everything I try to do; she won’t let me do her hair for the life of her! She hate’s to wear clothes and is now refusing to use her potty chair? What is going on?! I guess she’s a daddy’s girl….

Crazy Terrible two’s
So my little Miss Madison will be 21months on the 28th and I think she may have hit her terrible two’s a tad bit to early….. She has this new thing were she’ll act all sweet and act as if she’s going to kiss you meanwhile she goes to kiss me and grabs my cheeks with both hands and bites her lips as she try’s to pinch me really hard super funny looking but painful. My god son (Christopher) who is 6 months younger then Madison however he’s bigger than her but he’s still young inside, well Madison loves to pick on him and he’s been wearing those new Huggies Diaper’s that look like Jeans so cute, well he’s been wearing them without a shirt which is way cute, however Madison loves to pinch his back and last night grabbed his chest so hard and just squeezed till he started to scream! She is getting really mean, I am afraid to take her around other kids I am scared that the parents are going to think I just let her do it BUT I DON’T! I have actually a few times pinched her thinking if she got to see how it feels she would stop but that wasn’t the case she laughs when I do it. What do I do? I want to be able to take her around my friend’s kids but she’s a bully. The funniest thing of all is my daughter is not of average size for her age she’s about 19lbs and 28 ½ inches.
Coxsackie Viral Infection
So I’ve been away a while, Madison was sick for a few days which actually ended up turning into a week and a half long virus of the mouth. Madison ended up catching Coxsackie Viral Infection basically known to a lot of people as Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease.
Madison started off with a pretty high fever, which we figured she was just getting a cold again, however she also started to get a runny nose, then stomach pains. We went through the weekend thinking she had a fever. Monday came around and she started to get a bad sore on her lip, Tuesday we took her to the Pediatrician and immediately he noticed the inside of her mouth which to be honest I didn’t even notice, she had sore’s on her tongue, gums and the roof of her mouth as well as her tonsils. We immediately took good precaution and took the right steps to take care of the condition.
Dealing with a sick baby on no sleep…
My daughter Madison has been sick since I got home from work Friday afternoon, not a fun way to start off the weekend and considering it was the 4th of July. Friday night and bed time came around, well bedtime for her wasn’t going to happen. She wasn’t able to find a position that was comfortable for her so she was on and off of the bed, laying in various places on the carpet and just couldn’t seem to find a good spot to sleep.
I think it was about 1:30am by the time I couldn’t keep my eyes open, I snoozed off
waking up around 3:00am to her screaming not a good feeling. Daddy got the thermometer to check her temp again and sure enough, it was even higher. We tried everything from cooling her down to trying to take her mind off it with Mickey Mouse Club House, to giving her Oreo’s at 3:00am. Nothing worked and of course the only medicine we had was Tylenol and with the recall out telling everyone to toss out all bottle’s, we didn’t want to use it.
Meet Courtney
Let’s start off with me, my name is Courtney. I am a mom to Madison who will be 2 years old
this October, amazing how time flies. I am engaged to my best friend Art (Madison’s daddy). I work full time and spend every free minute I get with my amazing daughter and daddy.
When we first found out I was pregnant, we weren’t to sure what to do, mainly because Art isn’t really the daddy type and well….. I was but I wasn’t too sure how certain things were done such as diaper changing, feedings (nursing), burping and never ending washing of clothes. (To my first time mommies don’t stress it will come natural, the second your baby is put into your arms and don’t worry, the new dads will slowly but surely catch on). Congrats to Madison’s dad who has changed his first #2 diaper!! It only took about 2 years.
Now that I am a mommy, I’ve started to understand the meaning of life which is being the best mommy and role model to my daughter….♥
