Finding a baby carrier

Okay, so I have tried almost all of the baby carriers except the one that wraps around. I used a sling when Troy was a newborn until about 3 months old. Then I bought a bijorn style one that straps them on the front but his legs are getting too meaty and it makes red marks on his thighs when I take him out.

I was at Target today and got a jelly bean that you can put them on your hip and its kinda like a sling but I am not sure if I like it. I was at USA baby and almost bought one of those wrap around ones but it was $60! That is crazy! Really? Because the material has UV protection, that’s what the sales lady said, anyway.

I’m about to go on eBay and see what I can find. The problem is my 6 month old is 20 lbs! So the sling cuts into my shoulder and that is why I switched to the other one. I guess I just make big babies! He is growing so fast. I am going to have to find one of those wrap around ones for cheaper than $60. So the hunt begins.

My kids hates veggies

So my almost 5 yr old, Luke, hates veggies. I have tried everything, from making funny faces to blackmail to bribery. I puree veggies and put them in his food and he is fine with that. So now I use dessert or cantaloupe (his favorite thing in the world) to bribe him.

Tonight he had to eat 3 kernels of corn and two slices of carrots in order to get a bowl of cantaloupe. Last week I made him at least TRY a piece of broccoli. He put it in his mouth and spit it out! At least he is trying stuff!

I’ve tried ketchup, melted cheese, ranch dressing, to no avail. It’s a battle and darn it, I am going to win this!

Kids say the funniest things

So I am watching this movie called “Remember Me” with Robert Pattison. Luke, my almost 5 yrs old, says to me as he walks into the room, “mom, its just a movie, don’t cry”. So cute. He is so funny. This morning he comes into my room, climbs up on my bed and proceeds to tell me all about the dream he had. He just Luke Rockstarted this last week.

The first time he told me about it he was saying “mom, I was looking for you and couldn’t find you. Then I was searching down a street and brother was there but you were not there. My brother was talking, (Troy is only 6 months old), I looked and looked and then I woke up”. I said, “its okay honey, dreams aren’t real”. He says “they were when I was there”. So I said, “hey are you hungry? Do you want some breakfast?” He says, “No I ate in my dream”.

I think I want to start a new diet. Eat in your dreams and wake up full! That would be awesome! Thank you Luke for that great idea!

Preschool graduation

So my five year old, Luke, graduated from preschool yesterday. His school is a Christian preschool so we had a cute little ceremony. Of course my son is a ham! He is up on the stage singing with his class and waving to us in the audience. He watches this show called “The Upside-Down Show” on Nick Jr. They do this skit called super fingers. the index and middle finger run like legs and are super heros of some sort. Anyway, he is walking up the “super fingers” on the side of his face and in his own little world up there on stage. My family and I were laughing so hard, I think tears were coming down! I can’t wait to watch it back on the video. I am definitely going to show this to his girlfriends when he gets older. Wait! I can use it as blackmail! LOL!

Mom blog

I am a 37 year old mother of two boys. My oldest is turning 5 in July and my baby is 6 months old. My husband and I wanted to have them closer together but we had a miscarriage in between the two and it took us almost 2 1/2 yrs to conceive the second baby!

I finally got pregnant 3 months after the miscarriage and now I have my adorable baby boy. My oldest son was so excited to have a baby brother. He would talk to him through my belly button and would always hug and kiss my belly. It was really the sweetest thing. I definitely encouraged this a lot.
