Con’s to being pregnant

So I’m coming up on my 12 week mark of this pregnancy and although I love being pregnant there are always con’s to go with those pro’s.

My least favorite part of pregnancy is the morning sickness or in my case the nausea. During my first trimester I’ve only thrown up once which I can’t be too mad about because throughout all my pregnancies I’ve had bad morning sickness. Though I shouldn’t complain I guess I would rather get it over with instead of having that sick lingering feeling.

Another one of the con’s of being pregnant is not being able to have my morning coffee because that is what gave me the energy to start my day. Now I’m drinking decaffeinated coffee which I really enjoy but it definitely doesn’t do the same thing as that amazing substance called caffeine.

Besides those two issues, I like being pregnant but then again I’m only going off what I remember from my first pregnancy. For all I know this experience can be very different, I guess I have to take it one day at a time.

My pregnancy

My name is Michelle, I’m 24 and this is the beginning of my amazing nine month journey into pregnancy. It was April 30, 2010, when I took my second pregnancy test that revealed a positive result and that would change my lifestyle choices in the following months.

Even before I took the pregnancy test, I had a good feeling that I was pregnant because all of a sudden my breasts got fuller, I was dehydrated every morning and I was always extremely hot. My husband was ecstatic and very proud and even though this was a planned pregnancy, he was definitely surprised. From the beginning I’ve been stressed because I was unsure how this pregnancy was going to turn out since I’ve had 2 consecutive miscarriages prior to this baby, so I’ve been on edge.

That changed this past week when I had a vaginal ultrasound that showed the baby at his/her estimated size and a heartbeat, which just brought so much relief to me. We are hoping for another boy so that our 2 1/2 yr. old son, Israel, will have a little buddy to play with but at this point I’ll just take whatever the good Lord blesses us with.
