Analise Hears her Baby Brother’s Heart Beat

Today was my 5 month appointment and decided to bring my 4 year old daughter, Analise, with me. I want to get her involved with the pregnancy. She has been a little jealous. Every day she questions who our baby is, I think it’s cute, but it’s a sign of her not being used to the fact that there will be a new baby in the house.

I got off work early today so I picked up Annie before my appointment. She was excited. I got there 20 min early which was a good thing because parking is always hard to find there. On our way up in the elevator, she was asking lots of questions. She asked if the baby was going to come out and if I was getting a shot. She was confused since this was a new experience for her.

We finally got into the Dr’s Office. The waiting room was empty. I was the only patient there which was great because I hate waiting. The nurse called us back and took my blood pressure and my weight. I only gained 2 pounds this month, she said that was good. She then took us back in the room and minutes later the doctor came in.

GOING ON 20 WEEKS

(from Left) Ale, Rosa and Bella

Time flies so fast and the weeks just keep coming or so it seems like that for me. Working full time and coming home doing wifey duties, watching after both girls, it seems like it never ends. I get little time for myself but I am not complaining, I wouldn’t change anything, I love my life. I can only imagine adding a newborn to my schedule, how hectic it will be but I am sure it will balance out and I can’t wait for my little boy to join our family.

I’m coming up on 20 weeks Thursday. Technically I am 5 months pregnant. I have been feeling great so far, just a little tired by the end of the day. I have my monthly dr. appt Thursday. I will be having another ultrasound by the end of the month, just for them to measure how the baby is growing. I felt the baby kick for the first time last week. I woke up in the middle of the night as usual, same time around 4 am, to use the restroom and when I came back to bed, I laid on my back and he gave me a couple of kicks. It was a good feeling☺ I love that part of being pregnant, feeling the baby kick and move around. Ever since then, he’s been moving a lot and only at night though.

Pregnancy symptoms, uh!

I started to brag about feeling better and not feeling nauseous but it suddenly hit me again, only at night time. It’s not as severe as in my first trimester. I for sure thought it was long gone. Drinking really cold water also makes me nauseous. My waistline is slowly disappearing, my uniform scrubs are starting to fit a little too tight now.

I think its time to announce the good news to my boss. I have been getting so tired lately, I often nap at lunch time in my car. I am a surgical assistant and my position consists of standing up all day so being on my feet wears me out.

I have been thinking a lot lately of what name to give my baby boy. We are thinking of a name that starts with the letter A, both of our daughters names start with an A so we want to keep the A thing going, I haven’t found any nice names that I like. I have searched online and no luck yet, any suggestions?

NEVER GO TO VEGAS PREGNANT

So last weekend we went to Vegas to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It was not very fun for me as I watched the others drink and I couldn’t join in. I was officially the D.D. (designated driver) the whole weekend.

Driving up to Vegas and back was hard to do. Sitting in a car for 4-5 hours was not comfortable as I was drinking lots of water so I wouldn’t dehydrate in the heat. We had to do a lot of stopping for me to use the restroom. Pregnant and in heels walking down the strip killed my back but overall I got through it.

We stayed at the Treasure Island Hotel. Our room was great, they upgraded us to a nicer room than we had paid for thanks to my hubby who was being a suck up to the girl who was checking us in, leave it to him to get free comps.

If you are ever in Vegas, definitely watch the Peep Show with Holly Madison, it was great. The buffet at the Wynn hotel is delish, a little pricey but like they say, you get what you pay for.

WEEK 16

I am finally feeling a lot better and my appetite is finally coming back to me with a few cravings, Tabasco being one of them which is strange. I never used to like it before but now I have to have it with my chicken, yummy. Makes me hungry talking about it. So spicy things have been a craving with this pregnancy.

One of the things I can not have is dark soda. It makes me sick. I guess it’s a good thing, I use to love it but not anymore! My baby bump is finally here. Its obvious I have a little bun in the oven and it doesn’t just seem like I have had one too many twinkies. I have felt a few flutters here and there and yesterday morning when I woke up, I was laying on my back and felt my stomach go in to a hard little ball. I’m assuming it’s the baby and not gas, lol.

3rd time is the charm

So I was reading that this ultrasound place in Costa Mesa does ultrasounds to tell you the gender of the baby as early as 13 weeks. I called to make an appointment and was given June 11th at 12pm, one day after my husband’s birthday. I though that would be a great birthday surprise for him. So I scheduled it with out telling him. I could hear it already, its “Another Girl”, but this time I had seen something in between the legs, could it really be a boy?

As the tech asked me what I was hoping for, I said “well, I already have two girls but I wouldn’t mind another one”. He said, “well guess what? It’s a boy” and showed me my son’s privates.

Week 11

Long weeks of nausea and trying to keep any food down is all I could think of, being able to eat again. I was due for another Dr. check up. Like always, they start by taking my blood pressure and checking my weight. I had lost 6 pounds from not being able to eat and any other time, I wouldn’t complain about losing weight but it concerned me that my baby wasn’t getting enough food.

The doctor reminded me, it was normal to lose weight the first few months. I felt better and remembered that part from when I was pregnant with both my girls who are now 9 and 4, Angelique and Analise.

She walked me to the room and gave me a gown to put on, I waited again. I felt nauseous and hoped I didn’t get any bad news. The doctor finally came and asked a few general questions. She began to look for the baby’s heart beat. At first she was having a difficult time finding it. I started to panic and think that the little heart I had seen a few weeks ago on my ultrasound was gone but a few more tries, moving the monitor on my stomach, she found it.

Pregnancy Symptoms again?

On March 10th, I started feeling tender breasts and all of a sudden feeling low on energy. It was hard to even think I could be pregnant again after having to go through a painful experience. In January of 2010 I had what is called blighted ovum that resulted in a DNC.

Back in December 2009 I was pregnant with what I thought was a viable pregnancy but after having 3 ultrasounds with no sign of a fetal heart they diagnosed me with a blighted ovum. The most devastating news I ever gotten.

It seemed so unreal, I didn’t want to believe it and was in denial. After soaking in all the bad news, I agreed to have the procedure done, “DNC”. I felt so empty inside and just wanted it to be over and done with. We planned to wait a few months before trying again, but nature took its course. ☺
